2024–2026
Master of Data Science
RMIT University — completed with Distinction; degree conferred in July 2026.
About
I studied physics at the University of Colombo and completed a Master of Data Science with Distinction at RMIT University. My background combines physics training with research in deep learning and language models.
My undergraduate research used deep learning to study drought in Sri Lanka. I subsequently worked on neural-network implementation on FPGAs through the JENNIFER2 mentorship programme and supported physics laboratory classes and tutorials as a teaching assistant. At RMIT, my research focused on adapting language models under limited computing resources.

Aug 2021
Implemented neural-network methods on FPGAs during the mentorship programme with Professor Paolo Branchini, INFN Roma Tre.
Aug 2018
Selected to represent Sri Lanka at the Asian Science Camp in Manado, Indonesia.
May–Jul 2026
RMIT University — represented Master of Data Science students in discussions with course coordinators and academic staff.
Feb 2020–Aug 2021
University of Colombo — organised student discussions, guest lectures, and academic activities for physics undergraduates.
I would like to explore machine-learning methods for particle-physics simulation, particularly how they can reduce computing cost while preserving accuracy. Efficient model adaptation and scientific computing are the main directions I hope to develop through doctoral research.
